Apostolate

EDUCATION

Our apostolate in the field of education is a call to take part in the teaching mission of the church. In our schools we help our young to develop healthy personalities with higher values and to assimilate the profound qualities of Jesus Christ. Tremendous achievements in the field of education among the poor especially in the rural areas carried out by the MSST are obvious. Challenged by the widespread illiteracy of the regions, MSST opened up schools especially in remote villages. It is noteworthy that all the schools including kindergarten to Higher Secondary, run by the Missionary Sisters of St. Therese of Infant Jesus mainly focused on the holistic formation of children, and thereby immense happiness and satisfaction to the people. Also sisters took up teaching in the schools run by the parish under various dioceses.

HEALING MINISTRY

A new and dignified face to the nursing profession given by the exemplary service of missionary sisters is remarkable in the medical field. Nourished daily at the Lord’s table and filled with the riches of His grace we enter into the ministry of healing regardless of caste, creed and religion. We run hospitals in remote areas to take care of the sick through curative and preventive methods. Through our apostolate of caring for the sick, the suffering members of the humanity feel the healing touch of our Lord. Sensing the need of the people for an easier access to medical facility, we conduct school health check up and free medical camps in the interior villages targeting the poor.

SOCIAL SERVICE

Sisters’ involvement in the life of the people of very remote villages are aimed serving people and educating them. Sisters of each community visit the families of the area in order to build up a good rapport with the people and to study the life situation of the families and the locality as a whole in order to provide better help and guidance to them.

EVANGELIZATION

The Sisters take part in various activities of the parish and lead the parish community to the communion of the Church .MSST sisters take active participation to give religious instruction to the youth and children to deepen their Catholic Faith and to impart the teachings of the Church to them. Sisters involve in the other ministries of the dioceses namely Family apostolate, pastoral activities, Youth ministry, BCC prayer services and other social activities. They prepare children and adults to receive sacraments, with devotion .The sisters take part in the various associations in the parish and many a time take full responsibility over these associations to train the people to be active members of the parish community by their guidance and direction. Preparing altar boys to take part in the Divine Liturgy with devotion is also taken as a key responsibility by the sisters.

We show a special preference to give priority to the work of Evangelization including believers whose faith is weak, those who have gone away from faith, the new christians and the new believers. Through the activity of evangelization the gospel is proclaimed and explained . We proclaim the gospel both through deed and word and through a life of prayer and penance .
